New post! Join us as we explore the Glendale Narrows, a scenic stretch of the L.A. River that holds trees and wildlife, and serves as the focal point of efforts to revitalize our much maligned waterway.

Wrapping up our round of OC posts, we return to Orange and its adorable little downtown area, which sits just a couple blocks east of the Orange Metrolink station. You'll find lots of cute architecture, a picturesque town square, and plenty of bustling cafes, restaurants, and shops.
In our last post, we highlighted the monster burrito at Cali Tacos in Orange. As it turns out, it's a very short bus ride from a couple of great museums! Just a block from Cali Tacos, OC Bus 53 will take you down Main Street directly to @thediscoverycube children's museum and the @bowersmuseum - which we had to check out.
We were intrigued by the TikToks we saw of a monster burrito down in the OC. And as it turned out, it was close to a train station! @cali_tacos is on Chapman Avenue just a 15 minute walk west of the Orange Metrolink station (or you can take a short ride on OC Bus 54, your Metrolink ticket will get you on for free).
It’s 1992, and the RTD, L.A.’s main transit system at the time, is about to shut its doors. But defiant to the end, one of the agency’s officials makes a quip about one of the city’s smaller transit systems. What was happening in the ’80s and ’90s that brought about the end of the RTD, and why did one of its top officials feel compelled to call Foothill Transit a bunch of wusses?
