You all knew it was coming.
Join us as we discuss the 1994 action classic Speed (a.k.a. “The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down”), starring a young Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Among the topics we touch on are the film’s extensive use of the Los Angeles landscape, how the movie holds up nearly thirty years later, and the surprisingly grounded portrayal of L.A. transit riders.
Excellent podcast episode!!! Loved Speed when it first came out and I loved your perspectives on the movie and how the landscape of Los Angeles and the bus system are used in the movie’s story line. Great opportune use of the freeway construction at the time too. If Speed 2024 is ever made I hope your wonderful suggestions make it in the storytelling!
